Dave Peterson, PE
Mr. Peterson is a founding Principal of Peterson Brustad Inc. He specializes in planning, design, and implementation of water projects, and has managed projects of all sizes. He understands public involvement, the environmental process, permitting, financing, right-of-way acquisition, design, and construction of water resources, drinking water, and wastewater projects.
His planning experience includes water supply plans; integrated water resources plans, river restoration, dams, water distribution, storm drains, wastewater master plans, water and wastewater treatment plant siting, water quality improvement projects, bridge hydrology/hydraulic studies, flood control plans, and FEMA flood studies.
His design experience includes gravity and pressurized pipelines, storm drainage systems, levees, floodwalls, detention basins, river restoration, erosion control, dams, spillways, canals, water tanks, pump stations, and water and wastewater treatment plants.
Dave has a B.S. and an M.S. in Civil Engineering from Montana State University.
Karl Brustad, PE, MBA
Mr. Brustad is a founding Principal of Peterson Brustad Inc. He has more than 20 years of experience in the planning, design, and construction of stormwater, wastewater, and potable water supply projects.
His experience includes groundwater and surface water treatment, storage tanks, pumping stations, pipelines, wells, telemetry, and SCADA systems. He has authored several water and wastewater master plans and is intimately familiar with a variety of modeling applications.
Karl’s entire professional career has been centered around water including over five years working for a water utility. It’s this experience that allowed Karl to manage design consultants and learn first-hand the dos and don’ts of consulting. In addition, Karl is a licensed Grade IV Water Treatment Plant Operator.
Karl has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from CSU Chico and an M.B.A. from CSU Sacramento.
Karl enjoys spending time with his wife Colette and his children Ivan and Rena. Karl enjoys hiking, hunting (especially archery), fishing (especially with a fly rod), golfing, boating, and remains active in team sports - softball and basketball.
Chris Fritz, PE, CFM
Mr. Fritz has more than 10 years of experience in civil engineering projects, specializing in both water and raw water systems.
His experience includes regional flood management planning, grant administration, levee accreditation, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, pump and storage facilities, water wells, building design, foundation design, water systems plan checking, pipeline design, ArcGIS modeling, master planning, water and wastewater system modeling, and construction services.
Chris has a B.S. in Civil Engineering with Honors from CSU Chico.
Mike Rossiter, PE, CFM
Mr. Rossiter has over 10 years of experience in the field of civil engineering, specializing in flood control and water resources planning.
His experience includes hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, regional flood studies, interior drainage analyses, culvert hydrology/hydraulic studies, engineering economics analyses, FEMA flood mapping, water supply plans, urban water management planning, and integrated water resources plans.
Mike has a B.S. in Environmental Science from Loyola Marymount University, an M.S. in Water Resources Management from UC Santa Barbara, and an M.S. in Civil Engineering from UC Davis.
Mike and his family enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities including camping, hiking, kayaking, and fishing.
Kevin Gerst, PE, SE
Kevin has over eight years of structural engineering and project management experience mostly focusing on the analysis, design, and inspection of dams and hydraulic structures including radial gates, vertical lift gates, miter gates, spillways, dam flow-through monoliths (gated flood control outlets), intake towers, penstocks, thrust blocks, and dam raise studies and design elements. He is certified as a SPRAT I technician for rope access inspection and is proficient in SAP2000, AutoCAD, MathCAD, and spColumn.
Kevin has a B.S. in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis) from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and an M.S. in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis) from Purdue University, West Lafayette.
Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife Christine and his two year old twins Harper and Connor. It is a full house with three dogs and two cats, and they also have a horse that lives at a close-by stable (this is what happens when you marry a veterinarian)! They love to get outdoors, travel, go wine tasting, and cook together. Kevin attempts to play golf, and he enjoys pheasant and duck hunting and fishing.
Jared Meredith, PE
Jared has 20 years of experience in the planning, design, and construction of stormwater, wastewater, and potable water supply projects.
His experience includes large multi-disciplined projects with coordination and project management involving a team of consultants and multiple agencies. Jared has operated as a project manager and technical lead on projects throughout the central valley and Sierra Nevada communities. Prior to joining PBI, Jared operated Meredith Engineering Inc. for 12 years. Jared has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from CSU Chico.
Jared enjoys traveling, camping and snow skiing with his wife Jennifer and two boys, Tyler and Evan. Jared is currently the Scoutmaster for Boyscout Toop 117 in Shingle Springs.
Ashley Smith, PE
Ashley has more than 5 years experience of civil engineering experience including design of pump stations, reservoirs, and pipelines using AutoCAD Civil 3D, and has planning experience in flood management and water system master plans. She is proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, and FLO-2D software. Ashley is also the current president of the local Engineers Without Borders chapter.
Ashley has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from UC Davis.
Ashley enjoys traveling, dancing, playing tennis, hiking, cooking, spending time with friends and family and staying active.
Chris Buller, PE
Chris has more than 5 years of civil engineering experience including analysis, design, and retrofit of hydraulic structures such as tainter gates, miter gates, concrete flood control structures, intake towers, and penstocks. Chris has over 3 years of structural inspection experience of tainter gates, miter gates, vertical lift gates, glory holes, spillways, penstocks, and fracture critical bridges. He is a certified SPRAT I technician. He is proficient in SAP2000, SpColumn, Autocad and Mathcad.
Chris has a B.S and M.S degree in Civil Engineering from the University of the Pacific.
He enjoys playing and watching soccer, basketball and tennis. In his spare time he likes mountaineering, skiing, and wakeboarding.
Jacob Rowe, EIT
Jacob is an Engineer in Training with over two years of experience in modeling, designing, restoring, and managing water resources. He is proficient in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ARCGIS, and Civil3D software.
Jacob has a B.S. in Environmental Resources Engineering from Humboldt State University.
Jacob enjoys spending his free time camping, fishing, cooking, and traveling.
Michael Pantell, EIT, CFM
Michael is an Engineer in Training with experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling specializing in levee and dam breach analysis. He is proficient in ArcGIS, HEC-RAS 5.0, HEC-HMS, AutoCAD Civil 3D and EPAnet.
Michael has a B.S. in Geology from UC Davis and a M.S. in Civil Engineering from Sacramento State.
Michael and his wife enjoy hiking, traveling, helping at church and spending time with friends and family.
Baron Creager, EIT
Baron is an Engineer in Training with experience in hydrology, water resources, watershed and reservoir analysis, impact assessment, and environmental planning. He has worked on small- and large-scale infrastructure and land development projects for state, federal, and private clients. He is proficient in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and SAMS.
Baron has a B.S. in Environmental Resources Engineering from Humboldt State University.
Baron enjoys competitive and adventurous activities, playing and watching sports, music, movies, traveling, and spending time with friends, family, and his two cats.
Brittney Salvador, EIT
Brittney is an Engineer in Training with experience in hydraulic modeling and design in the public and private sectors. She is proficient in HEC-RAS, ArcGIS, HEC-HMS, and AutoCAD.
Brittney has a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
Brittney enjoys spending time outdoors, running, camping, and traveling. When she is not outdoors, she enjoys reading and doing yoga.
Matti Siltanen, EIT
Matti is an Engineer in Training with experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling. He is proficient in ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, and HEC-HMS.
Matti has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from UC San Diego and a M.S. in Environmental Engineering from UC Berkeley.
Matti enjoys various outdoor activities including hiking, scuba diving, and bouldering. His passion for the ocean inspired him to work in water resources management.
Ann has a background in Accounting and had previously worked in the accounting department at AT&T. She has been working as the bookkeeper/office manager for Peterson Brustad Inc. since January 2006.
Ann has a B.S. in Business and Economics from Lehigh University.
Ann grew up on the East Coast but made her way west to California where she enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, biking, boating, and camping. In addition she enjoys music events, wine tasting, and weekend getaways with friends and her two grown children Derek and Shelby.
