    Overview

    Project Summary

    Assisting the County in its efforts to improve flood management systems and practices.  Motivations for the re-evaluation were Hurricane Katrina, the Jones Tract levee failure, and a number of significant proposed State and Federal administrative and legislative actions related to flood management that could affect the County.  The effort addresses land use planning, flood management policies, ordinances, responsibilities, design standards, legislation, investigations, and improvements, including working with DWR and the USACE to gain State and Federal assistance and dollars.
